"There's a Landseer that isn't on display?" Rupert's heart-rate increased. He would never suggest they sold such a treasure, but he desperately wanted to see it. Maybe if they displayed it more visitors would come, and that might bring in the money they needed to buy back more of the lost artworks as they turned up at auctions.
"Only a print -- if we still have it at all -- but we ought to show it off, even so." Grandmama looked inside one of the cardboard boxes that were stacked on the bed. "Your great-grandmother Eugenia's hideous tea-set. I believe the design has come back into fashion, so maybe we could sell it. Be a dear, and help me lift it -- I want to see what it's sitting on."
