Weekend Writing Warriors

It's Sunday again, and time for another round of Weekend Writing Warriors. I'm still working on Finding Rupert as my main WiP, and I'm more or less on target for the month. Following on, more or less, from last week's eight, Rupert has asked Papa about Brigit's role in the day's work:

***

Papa gestured towards the big pen where Rupert had been working. "Young Fred has separated out some of the lame ewes for her to work on before they go through the dip. Normally, she'd start at the same time as the rest of us, but I believe she had to go over to Wirksworth on a mission of mercy first thing. Something that came up yesterday, apparently."

Rupert guessed that Brigit's errand had been suggested by her priest. He hadn't dared broach the subject of attending Mass in Wirksworth rather than the Communion Service in Lower Pemberley as yet, mainly because he worried how Brigit would react to him turning up, if they hadn't had a chance to talk to each other beforehand. As she still seemed to be avoiding him, that chance seemed as unlikely to happen as ever. Maybe he should talk to Linda again; she might be able to suggest something, or even talk to Brigit on his behalf.
