Last weekend, I was mostly in Derbyshire. Having travelled up on Thursday evening, via the Chatsworth Fish Bar for an excellent takeaway, Friday morning saw us make a trip into Sheffield on a visit to the Antiques Quarter. Although we didn't manage to find a replacement leather trench coat for me, Dad found a computer desk for the Village Institute and we had a pretty good lunch at The Sheffield Antiques Emporium. We also had a wander past the Madina Masjid (Medina Mosque) which looks very well settled in its surroundings in spite of being a relatively recent addition to the location.
After all that excitement, Mum and Dad went to a party in the evening, while I paid a visit to the Angler's Rest community-owned pub for a meal in the Bistro. And very tasty it was too, although three courses was a little too much for me on that occasion.
Coming up: a visit to the Derbyshire County Archives, a walk round the village, and a very old text book.
