Lucky 7 Meme

In lieu of all the other things I keep meaning to post about...

Rules

1. Go to page 77 (or 7th) of your current MS
2. Go to line 7
3. Copy down the next 7 lines – sentences or paragraphs – and post them as they’re written. No cheating.
4. Tag 7 other authors. (I am not doing this – anyone who wants to do it can. Those who don’t want to don’t have to.)

Page 7 of the WIP currently known as Sweet Reunion:

"You've told me as much as I need to tell Charmaine." Maggie picked up her coffee cup, and took a sip. "She'll go over the finer details with you tomorrow."

Bobby toyed with his cake-fork, chasing the last few crumbs of chocolate around the plate. It wasn't until he'd eaten every last one that he spoke again.

"What if I said I wanted to find a house that you'd like as well? One where you'd like to visit."

"Visit? In what way?"

"Just visit. Hang out. Spend time together. Get to know each other again." He reached over the plates and cups to take her hand again. "It's not like I know many people over here, and even when we start filming cast and crew friends aren't the same as other friends. Please, Maggie. We've got three decades of catching up to do, and it won't be the same if we're doing it in a house you hate."

Maggie looked down at Bobby's hand, curled over her own. What would her friends make of her turning down the chance to spend time with the famous Bobby Sweet? Did she really have that good a reason for turning him down anyway? She'd see everyone at the Christening, and her help would be far better saved for the week that followed it, when most of the other visitors had gone home, leaving Mum and Pippa to get the house back into some sort of order.

"I suppose I could postpone my trip up for a few days," she said, choosing her words carefully. "I might have to rearrange other appointments, so don't expect my undivided attention every day. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have shopping to finish. Let me give you my card, and we'll talk more tomorrow."

Currently I'm up to page 30 of that one.
