What I like about it, is the little stories, in amongst the bigger, and often rather silly, ongoing plots. The first one-episode storyline this week was about the new practice nurse helping a middle-aged man grieve for his former partner with the help of the man's new (seemingly younger) partner. The fact that all involved were in same-sex relationships was less important than whether or not they liked scuba-diving, or kept tropical fish, or had a fear of vaccinations.
Sometimes I think we need far more of those stories in text-based (mainstream) fiction too. We definitely need more of them in TV drama and films.
In other news Harper Fox sent me a signed bookplate, so I must rush off and buy her excellent Driftwood in print.
