Mr Singh Confronts the Minotaur

Romance doesn't die after characters pass a particular age. Mr Singh and Mrs Ball are two passengers on a cruise holiday for the more mature traveller, and their story is a gentle exploration of class-snobbery, the insecurity that often lies behind such attitudes, and Greek Mythology.

Doreen Ball is a recent lottery winner, whose daughter had already married up, and she really would have preferred a holiday at her static caravan Park Home in Skegness to two weeks at sea with a group of strangers. But Tracy's mother-in-law needed a travelling companion, so off Doreen went.

Of course now Doreen's on the ship, she has to mind her manners, and do what Angela Braithwaite tells her. Until Harry Singh comes along, at least. One of the few men on the cruise, Mr Singh has had a variety of jobs, is a keen amateur historian, and holds no qualms about poking gentle fun at the attitudes of the more 'respectable' ladies on board. He is also the ideal person to help Doreen when Angela Braithwaite gets herself lost in the Labyrinth at Knossos.

As for the Minotaur: well, you'll have to read the story to find out...

Over to you. Do you like reading stories about less likely romances? Do you have a yearning for more unusual settings? I have at least one more story planned that's set around an archaeological tourist attraction.
