Roo walked over, and took the leadrope from Sarah. He spoke a few words to the horse, ruffled its forelock then led it in a tight circle one way then the other. A gust of wind blew through the ivy that climbed one wall of the stable block, and the horse pulled away from him. Roo soothed the horse, then handed the rope back to Sarah.
"He's not bold enough for me." He turned slowly on the spot, seeming to survey the heads leaning over stable doors. "Who's that fellow?" He pointed towards a big, misshapen black and white head, sporting one brown eye and one blue one.
