Hump Day Hook

Another Wednesday, and another Hump Day Hook. I've made good progress on Finding Rupert, my WiP again. We jump forward now to the Monday, and young Rupert is still trying to find out about the ancestor he was named after, this time by tracking down some more artworks from that era, firstly the Victorian artist Lionel Peveril's Lord Rupert Returns Duke Thomas to His Family:

A younger version of Rupert the Cavalier approached the main door of the Lodge, his arms weighed down by the body of an older man. Both were dressed in elegant clothing, although only Rupert wore the typical plumed hat, and Duke Thomas' jacket was blood-stained – the bold red contrasting with his grey-white skin. Behind them stood a servant holding a proud chestnut stallion, which was tossing its head and seemed not at all tired by its long journey. In the doorway stood two weeping women; behind them, a group of distraught servants tried to peer around for a glimpse of the visitors.
