BBC Hamlet filmed at Elsinore in 1964

I found this production on the BBC website via my MOOC (possibly only visible to UK folks). According to the site:

Christopher Plummer played Hamlet and his best friend Horatio was played by a young Michael Caine – his only filmed Shakespearean role.

Made to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's birthday, the play was filmed on location in the actual setting where it was set by Shakespeare. A BBC co-production with DR, Denmark's national broadcaster, it made use of the latest outside-broadcast technology available at the time.

The link we were given was for the closet scene between Hamlet and Gertrude, although given the way the Hamlet/Horatio relationship is played in the lead-up to that scene I have my own opinion on closets in this production.

The whole production is well worth watching if you have a spare three hours. To repeat the links:

Part One

Part Two
