Possible Temporary Outage

Someone at BT appears to have pressed the wrong button yesterday (or else BT's system developed a fault). I called them to cancel my old phone line as of the end of next month, giving myself plenty of time to set up everything on the new line, and they've set it to cancel as of tomorrow. Fortunately I spotted the error immediately, but by the time the second customer services person I spoke to had confirmed that there was an error, the people who could fix it had gone home until Monday. This has had a knock-on effect in causing my main Zen account to be set to automatically cancel on Monday also -- and there's no one there over the weekend who can fix that either as far as I can tell (although I have emailed them explaining the issue).

Hopefully it'll all get fixed without any of my email addresses bouncing or losing messages, but don't panic if I vanish from some places temporarily.

Meanwhile, B&Q's suppliers delivered a warped shower tray, so the bathroom renovations are on hold until they can send another complete shower unit (don't ask...) and my fireplace was halfway to being fitted when I realised that the wrong tiles had been sent (with reddish-purple flowers rather than blue ones).

It's been one of those weeks...

I met this chap and his boat on my way back from the library van, although I think the chap operating the lock was just another passerby
