Two Castles, a Lifeboat Station and a Brass Band Concert

Two weeks ago, I spent another sunny Sunday on the Kent coast. I started off at Walmer Castle:

It's not particularly impressive inside, but has some fine views over the sea

And some even more impressive gardens

My favourite was, of course, the kitchen garden

And its hothouse plants

Although I also liked the Queen Mother's garden

Full set starts here.

After that I set off along the coastal path in search of another castle:

I passed a wide variety of very pretty houses

And boats

Then I came to the Lifeboat Station

Where I bought a couple of secondhand books before carrying on again past more pretty houses

Eventually I arrived at Deal Castle:

It's round

And it has more stunning views

Plus lots of photo opportunities inside

Full set starts here

On my way back, a brass band had started up in the bandstand, so I bought an ice cream and listened for a while:

Full set from both halves of my walk starts here.
