Historical Inacuracy and a Link

What really irritates me in historical fiction, is when I'm tripped up by an inaccuracy that I can clear up with a swift visit to Google. The most recent example being characters paying for a cab ride with 'fivers' (and not expecting change), when the first or second link that I found explains exactly how fares worked. Okay, the story in question was steampunk, so some leeway can be allowed. Not a twenty-fold or more inflation of proces, though.
